With Belly Masking I apply layers of plaster bandages to the body, after the bandages have hardened I gently

pull it off the body and this is what we use for the finished piece.

I then smooth on a  plaster compound to the outside.

 It is ready to apply any paint effect or decoration that you like.

1. 5 EXTRA FAST setting plaster  bandages. They are each 4 inches wide and 5 yards long.

This is plenty of material to cover the average sized mom's belly and chest area with 4 layers.

After personally testing many brands of plaster bandages,

I have found that there are some that have more plaster embedded into them than others, but also found that the amount of plaster does not mean that it will be stronger.

 There are some plaster bandages that have Plaster of Paris embedded into the cloth, and there are other brands that have a much stronger plaster embedded into them.

I have picked the strongest and creamiest plaster bandages to ensure great detail and durability.

2. 1 Jar of Release agent (Petroleum Jelly) After testing all petroleum jellies I have found that they all react exactly the same, they will prevent the plaster bandages from sticking to your skin. Using anything else may cause the casting to stick to your skin and you will have trouble getting it off.

3. 1 Large Drop cloth,

4. 2 non-Latex rubber gloves. That is if you want to use them at all, I prefer to do these masks without gloves. It is an easy clean up.

5. 2 Sandpaper sheets (one course one fine)

6. 2 pouches of  ready mixed compound for smoothing and 2 smoothing boards!

7. Hanging wire.
